OC Hostel

The hostel host went above and beyond for us. He made sure that everything was ready for us, even when we arrived a little early. During our stay our son got a little sick and he went out of his way to recommend a clinic, let us borrow his thermometer, and offer pain reliever. He also provided recommendations for the area and was very welcoming. The location was near a lot of sightseeing spots and good food. We got the family room and it was perfect for our family of five. Definitely recommend this place.

The hostel is 20minutes walk away from Tainan Railway station. Walking from the railway station to the hostel is easy. It is just straight direction on one of the Main Street that starts out from the railway station. The host was great, he was waiting for me. I actually walked past the place, he saw me passing, ran out and guided me back. I booked a private room that includes bathroom and toilet. The common area is at the ground floor, and there is a pantry that provides variety of tea. One can make tea with the hot water provided at the drinking counter and either drink at the common area or at the privacy of one's room. There is also a water machine on the one of the floor(can't remember which floor). The hostel is not too far from the Red tower and Yong Le market where both places have many eateries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Around the hostel are many cafes and bars. Although the hostel is in an alley, the place is safe and quiet. One can feel safe to stay out late and not have to worry. The hostel is also along the major bus route, so it is quite easy to ride bus either to places of interest or to the railway station. One can use the bus card obtained in Taipei for the MRT/LRT. The card can also be used to ride commuter trains or local trains.

The hostel is located in a very central part of Tainan, close to many shops, restaurants and well-connected to other places of interest around town. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable, we had very nice and informative chats. I stayed in the single room on the top floor and it felt like a homestay, the room was spacious and quiet, AC was working perfectly and I had a very good rest at night. Totally recommended if you're headed to Tainan!

The hostel is in a quite central location but also quiet. Many interesting spots are nearby and can be explored by foot. King, the host, is very nice and helpful (even via WhatsApp if you wish) and also very knowledgeable about Tainan (and probably many other things). His good English is definitely also comfortable for a foreigner from the Western world. I enjoyed the hospitable atmosphere including free tea and water. Furthermore, as a "backpacker" or easy travelling guy I appreciated the free washing machine with detergents. I hope to come back sometime and visit King and his wife again.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel in Tainan! The host was incredibly welcoming and kind, making my experience even more enjoyable. The location is perfect—central and convenient for exploring the city. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend joining the tea tasting session with the host—it’s a unique and delightful experience! Would definitely stay here again.
